Gaelic Park prides itself on cultivating and nurturing the best that Irish culture and sport has to offer for the Irish and Irish-American communities.
The business element of Gaelic Park (Weddings, Banquets, Parties and The Pub) has always been the financial engine that supports all that we do to maintain our Irish Culture and Heritage. The Coronavirus pandemic has proven to be a challenging time in so many ways for everyone. Gaelic Park is no exception. Like many other businesses, Gaelic Park continues to suffer due to the cancellation of the St. Patrick’s Day festivities, the postponement of the Memorial Day Festival, the closure of the Carraig Pub, and the postponement or cancellation of many events and weddings. While our income has been decimated, our expenses remain as we continue to pay necessary staff and pay for the upkeep of our beautiful Center. Between now and September we estimate that with no income and considerable fixed costs, Gaelic Park will be operating with an unsustainable deficit. This deficit threatens the very existence of Gaelic Park.
The volunteer spirit is the driving force behind Gaelic Park…always has been. As the saying goes, “many hands make light work” and now is no different. We hope that the generosity of our constituency will “make light work” of this burden that Gaelic Park continues to bear. To that end, we are initiating an appeal to all our Supporters to help us “weather the storm.” We understand that you personally may have been impacted by this crisis, but if you have the ability and desire to help, we ask that you make a donation. When this arduous period in our lives ends, we expect Gaelic Park to continue our standing as the premier venue for Irish Culture and Heritage in the Midwest. We thank you sincerely for your continued support.
Donations can be made via credit card at chicagogaelicpark.com. Please go to Donate Now link on main page. Checks can be mailed to Gaelic Park 6119 West 147th St. Oak Forest IL 60452. Is mise le meas,
The Gaelic Park Board of Directors.
